Broken electric shower , help i need a wash!?

my shower has suddenly stopped working , when i put the switch on outside the bathroom the little light in the switch turns on ,but as soon as put the shower on the light outsde goes off and it only runs cold ???????anyone got an idea whats going on , how serious a problem is this to fix , and what kind of cost is involved as i am a student and dont have alot of spare cash ????





oh and one other little point , dont know if it makes a difference , the shower did this last week but suddenly started working again for a day or so .

it sounds like a loose connection somewhere .the little light should stay on when the switch is on.but really u need an electrician to check it for you.fixing showers is not for the inexperienced. if you are renting your landlord should fix it.
