I just took off all of my strings on my Fender Stratocaster because one snapped. The guitar hasn't been washed in about a year. I don't mean to literally wash it, but to shine it up a bit, get the dust off from the body, etc. Nothing like wax or anything, just something in a common household. How do I wash my Electric Guitar and what do I wash it with?
diluted vinegar in water - spray onto a rag and give it a good wipe. It'll sanitize and clean without ruining the finish and is chemical free. How do I wash my Electric Guitar and what do I wash it with?
Well I use machine oil...
Just get a soft piece of cloth, get some oil inot it, and wipe it clean, dont leave any oil to be seen on the guitar...
Plus it actually gives an added benefit, thats you can slide more on the strings...I like that alot
You can try Pledge Multi Surface Cleaner or pledge for electronics. Put it on a soft cloth not paper towels, then rub to a shine. This is cheaper and works just as well, with very little buildup of wax.
I use special guitar cleaner spray... they sell it at guitar center for like eight bucks
