It's a Hotpoint 800 de luxe wm 13 and I plan to buy to a new one after getting clothes out, so didn't want to pay a repair man to visit as rather put money towards new one. Any advice please? Thanks!!My hotpoint washing machine broke down (trips electric) and I need to get clothes out whilst water in. How ??
There's a drain tube at the back get a large bowl lower the end of the tube to ground level %26amp; keep end of tube inside the bowl the water will drain out into the bowl then you can openthe doorMy hotpoint washing machine broke down (trips electric) and I need to get clothes out whilst water in. Use a credit card to push the lock open and have something ready to catch the water
If it is a top loader, then you can open the lid and remove the clothing into a plastic bin that is right up against the washer to prevent it dripping water onto the floors. You will need a helper to help you take the bin outside and then you can both wring out the laundry and hang it.

If it is a front loader, you may be able to unplug the unit, wait 1 minute, then plug it back in. It may not actually be broken only need to be reset. If that is not the case and you don't care about breaking it, you can pop the lock and do the same thing I stated above using a bin to put the clothes in. An added thing to do is grab a shop-vac and suck out all the residual water left in the washer, empty the hoses and drag it outside for the city to pick up (or someone to steal and fix at home if possible). You will need to get all of the residual water out regardless of what type of machine it is or it will get stagnate, smell really bad and breed mosquitos.
