Electric switch on washing machine lid has 3 wires red,white and yellow.?

To find out if the switch is bad is there a general rule which 2 I would connect.Electric switch on washing machine lid has 3 wires red,white and yellow.?
to find out if the switch is bad you should ohm it out with a ohm meter connect meter press switch if it reads its good no reading its bad good luckElectric switch on washing machine lid has 3 wires red,white and yellow.?
must be a maytag look for a diagram should be right under the head . toutch all the wires together the washer will work.
